SINGAPORE & BALI

This was our first long haul trip with the LittleOne and I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised. H was already living in Singapore and I wanted to visit. I was also determined to prove to myself that traveling with a toddler is not only doable but also fun. I'm happy to say that both Singapore and Bali didn't disappoint and it couldn't have gone any better.

BEST EATS...

Singapore -

Chettinadu in Little India - Fantastic Indian food served on banana leafs. It was a real treat.

Nakhon Kitchen - for some exciting Thai food in Holland Village. Great food and great value for money.

Sunday Folks - The best ice cream around, especially yummy on a hot day :)

Bali -

Seminyak - The food highlight was a burger place, Wacko Burger. We usually try to eat as locally as possible when we travel and we did eat at some good Wahrungs but none of them had really stood out.

Ubud - We had some spectacular meals here:

The Melting Wok was amazing, the best by far, but be sure to reserve in advance, it's always busy.

Fair Wahrung Bale is to die for. The food is excellent, the curry in particular. The atmosphere is great and it's also for a good cause, all proceeds go to charity (providing medical services to be specific). Be sure to check it and reserve in advance. Not only is the food good, but the prices are good too.

BEST SLEEP...

Bali -
We stayed in two places during our visit to Bali. In Seminyak we stayed at the Ping Hotel, which was just lovely. It's very central to everything, the room is super clean and the staff extremely friendly. They also have a pool.
In Ubud we stayed at Ubud 2 Bungalow, which was also pretty great. Just minutes away from the Monkey Forest and the main temples and tourist attractions, it's location was extremely convenient. The bungalow itself (see pic) was very pleasant and clean, and was set away from the streets, which made it extremely quiet and peaceful in the evening.

SIGHTS & ACTIVITIES...

Singapore -

Gardens by the Bay is not to be missed, especially the light show.

The Singapore Zoo - Although I generally don't like to go to zoos, the Singapore Zoo is incredibly large and the animals are both varied and well cared for and unlike any other zoo I've ever been to, it's right in the middle of the jungle.

Bali -

Seminyak - The DMZ is great fun, especially with children. L didn't want to leave and we have some great pictures to show for it.

Tanah Lot and Uluwatu Temples are very scenic and are easy day trips from Seminyak.

Ubud - The Monkey Forest is a must see, especially if you like wildlife, followed by the Goa Gaja "Elephant Cave". The Cave itself is not as interesting as the surrounding forest and buddhist temple, so be sure to check that out.

The Ubud Palace and Saraswati Temple are next on the list, although tourists aren't allowed into the actual palace.

The Ubud art scene is great, especially if you want to buy some artwork to take back home
